You may love “The Four,” but FOX is hyping up a new singing competition that they’re saying will also be a hit. The network has announced the debut of “The Masked Singer,” hitting the small screen this January. They’ve detailed the show’s host, celebrity panel, and the show’s interesting “whosungit” premise.
Hosted by Nick Cannon, “The Masked Singer” will challenge the celebrity judges, studio audience and viewers at home to guess the true identity of disguised celebrities facing off against each other in a singing battle. While Fox hasn’t revealed the music stars who will compete on the show, they have rolled out the star-studded judges panel – Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke.
The format was adopted from overseas. When the network saw the reception to the hit original, they just had to have it. As you might recall,Ryan Reynolds, blew EVERYONE away with his performance of “Tomorrow” on the Korean edition of the show.
