Linda F: At home, we switched from using water bottles to a Brita water pitcher, I also use a water jug at at the office. In addition, unless printing an important document, I reuse the blank side of printed documents for scrap paper, and unimportant printouts from the internet, such as recipes, sudoku's and other "fun" stuff.

| Lori S: We are building a home and are focusing on Universal Design AND Green Technology. We have designed the home to maximize uses of passive solar energy, opportunities for active solar (when we can afford it), and are hoping to find carpeting made from recycled carpets. We of course do our best to recycle our waste. My favorite recycling has been donating clothing a toys my children have grown out of to Goodwill. The kids get into it and feel good about helping other children. GO GREEN! |

Mindy B: My family loves our planet! We recycle our newspaper, aluminum cans, plastic shopping bags, plastic soda bottles, glass and cardboard. We try to use earth-friendly products in our home as well. It isn't hard to do and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

| Shannon J: I have recently just learned to "re-purpose" things. I have a co-worker to thank for that. Now, I don't throw things away before thinking about how I can transform them into something useful. For example, old cards from your local art museum, you can cut down and make bookmarks to remember each show that you visited. I've even gone as far as taking apart those little white out wheels, and repaired them so we don't waste any! It's actually kind of fun, and I'm thinking about making it all into a little book! Thanks! |
